I was a journalist from 1992 until 2022, when I left my last news-media job and my career took several interesting turns. The most interesting turn was working on the railroad in Wyoming, where I moved in 2022 (initially to work for the local newspaper) with my human family and our pets. I'm now back to working with words, this time at a federal agency where I do storytelling through blogging. In our downtime, we're active in our congregation and volunteer at the local animal shelter. Reading and traveling -- sometimes in our electric vehicles -- are my main hobbies now.
